The Island Star at Maalaea Harbor, Maui, Hawaii

Maalaea Harbor has many excellent sailing charters.  One of our favorites is the Island Star.  This luxury sailing yacht is available for private charters, which is partly why we like it so much.  There’s nothing like having complete control over where you’re going when sailing in Maui waters.  With a private charter, you decide where and what you do, and you only have to invite people that YOU like.

Leaving from Maalaea is great because of its proximity to West Maui, South Maui and the other close islands that make up Maui County (Lanai and Molokai.)  Recently, some very high-profile celebrities have been seen on this vessel.  They’re ultra-protective of their clients, so we were unable to find out who they were, but we know that some big-ticket stars regularly charter this beautiful yacht.
