You know you’re in for a fun night when you first walk into Island Art Party in Kihei, south Maui. Their upbeat music and festive globe string lights showcase their cheerful paintings and friendly staff.
There’s a little bar tucked to the side where every hour is happy hour and these libations will loosen up even the most uptight artist!
Welcome to the party!
You’ll see the painting of the evening hung in the front of the room and the labeled paints with the number of pumps needed in the back of the room. Just slip on an apron and you’re ready to go! After settling into your seat, the expert Partista (Party Artist) will guide the class with easily understood instructions.
If experience in painting isn’t on your resume, fear not. Your inner artist will surprise you as the instructions can guide even a 5-year-old in successfully painting a Maui sunset.
These classes tend to draw a lively crowd, and you’ll find yourself chatting with the other participants as you sling red and orange paint across your canvas! Before you know it, you’ll be staring at your over own masterpiece. Gloating is free of charge and expected after this artistic feat!
If you have free time on your hands before or after the class, feel free to browse their sparkling jewelry for sale. You may end up finding a few fitting souvenir pieces to take home.
What makes this night so much fun is that it’s a unique activity with bubbly instructors that make you laugh while creating a work of art, even if you don’t have an artistic bone in your body! We would recommend this class to anyone on the island, visiting or local!
